Job Title:          Chief Operator
Basic Function: Responsible for startup and operation of a new Biodiesel production unit, including maintaining production and quality
standards and implement changes in equipment or processing techniques.   
Primary Responsibilities:
1.        Oversee production of Biodiesel product at desired customer quality and specifications.
2.        Troubleshoot process to ensure consistent operation.
3.        Ensure operation of plant is within all safety, environmental and permit specifications.
4.        Oversee operator activities to ensure efficient and effective production activities.
5.        Loss control responsibilities which include: conducting inspections and audits related to the Loss Control program as assigned,
participating in Hazard Reviews as needed, recommending safety improvements, completion of safety action items as assigned, completing
required regulatory training, and compliance with all applicable regulations.
Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
1.        2 years experience in chemical operations as a Engineer or 10 years experience in chemical operations as a Lead Operator.
2.        Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills.
3.        Must posse’s problem solving abilities and requires you to be a team and detail oriented individual and must be able to supervise,
schedule, train and motivate a skilled workforce.
4.        Outstanding computer, verbal and written skills are essential.
Working Conditions:
1.        Climbing of stairs and caged ladders up to height of 15 feet.
2.        Perform functions in confined spaces.
3.        Walking for periods up to 5 hours including uneven terrain
4.        Standing for periods up to 5 hours
5.        Physical exposure:
Exposed to outdoor conditions up to 3 hours
6.        Bilateral coordination; fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination; fine motor skills, pincer grasp lateral pincer
7.        Wear and use a negative pressure, full faced or partial face respirator.
8.        Communicate clearly in English, using a two-way radio.
9.        Distinguish between various colors.
10.        Emergency Response Activities:
-        climb and walk to any part of the plant site, including
stairs, ladders and piperacks
-        handle and use a 30 lb. fire extinguisher
-        required to carry and drag charged 4 inch hoses
-        must be able to grasp and hold hoses and nozzles
-        wear full bunker gear
-        wear and use Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
-        may be exposed to extreme temperatures and hazardous waste / chemicals
